Stovetop, Frying pan, Pot (small), Colander, Knife

Salmon (fresh)

Step 1

If using frozen salmon, defrost beforehand.

Broccoli (fresh)

Step 2

Slice the stem off the broccoli & cut the rest into florets. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the florets & cook for 5-7 min.

Butter (unsalted)

Step 3

Meanwhile, melt half the butter in a pan over medium heat.

Salmon (fresh)

Step 4

Add the salmon to the pan, skin-side down. Cook over medium-high heat for 2 min. Season with salt & pepper.

Garlic

Step 5

Add minced or crushed garlic. Turn the salmon & reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook for 5 min. Remove from heat & cover to keep warm.

Broccoli (fresh)
Butter (unsalted)

Step 6

Drain the broccoli & place in a bowl with the rest of the butter, salt & pepper. Mash with a fork until puréed.

Step 7

Serve the broccoli with the salmon & enjoy!
