Step 1
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Peel & thinly slice the shallot.
Step 2
In an oven-safe dish, layer half the pieces of butter, the flank steak & the rest of the butter. Add the sliced shallot. Season generously with salt & pepper. Bake for 20 min.
Step 3
While the steak is cooking, bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans & cook for 5 min, or until tender.
Step 4
Halfway through cooking, remove the baking dish from the oven. Using a spoon, pour the pan drippings over the steak. Then continue cooking.
Step 5
Drain the green beans & cover to keep warm until ready to eat.
Step 6
Remove the steak from the oven & slice it.
Step 7
Serve the steak with the green beans & pan juices. Yum!
