Pan-fried battered chicken served with delicious pasta marinara. This makes happy bellies!
Stovetop, Frying pan, Mixing bowl, Whisk, Colander, Pot (small), Knife
Step 1
Cook the pasta according to the package instructions.
Step 2
Set out 3 shallow dishes. Whisk the egg, salt & pepper in the first dish. Add a pinch of paprika (optional).
Step 3
Add the flour & garlic powder to the 2nd dish. Add bread crumbs & a pinch of salt into the 3rd dish. Station the bowls in order of flour, egg & bread crumbs.
Step 4
Thoroughly dredge the chicken in the flour on both sides. Then the egg, then the bread crumbs.
Step 5
For a crispier coating, dip the chicken in the egg & bread crumbs again!
Step 6
Drain the pasta & set aside.
Step 7
Heat 1/2 an inch of oil in a pan over medium-high heat. When the oil shimmers or reaches a temperature of 325°, add the chicken.
Step 8
Cook for 2-3 min. Then flip over the chicken. Reduce the heat to medium. Cook for 5 min, or until the chicken is cooked through, golden & crispy.
Step 9
Transfer the chicken to a paper towel-lined plate.
Step 10
Heat the marinara sauce in the same pan. Once heated, add the drained pasta. Toss to coat the pasta in the sauce.
Step 11
Slice the breaded chicken.
Step 12
Serve the chicken alongside the pasta. Garnish with fresh parsley (optional). Season with salt & pepper. Enjoy!
