Brioche bread (sliced)
Mayonnaise
Dijon mustard

Step 1

On one slice of bread, spread the dijon mustard. On the other slice, spread the mayonnaise.

Swiss cheese (slices)
Ham (deli slices)
Turkey (deli slices)

Step 2

On one slice of the bread, assemble the sandwich: add one slice of Swiss cheese & the turkey & ham slices. Top with the other slice of cheese & the second slice of bread. Press down gently on the sandwich.

Egg
Milk (whole)

Step 3

In a shallow bowl, add the egg & milk. Season lightly with salt & pepper. Whisk together to combine.

Step 4

Dip the sandwich into the egg mixture & flip it to coat the second side.

Butter (unsalted)

Step 5

Melt a dab of butter in a skillet on medium heat. Add the sandwich & cook for 3-4 min on one side. Flip & cook for another 2-3 min or until the bread is well browned & the cheese is melty. Remove the sandwich from the heat.

Powdered sugar

Step 6

Dust the Monte Cristo with powdered sugar (optional). Cut in half & enjoy with your favorite fruit jam for that classic sweet & savory flavor!
