Oven, Parchment paper, Sheet Tray, Knife
Step 1
Be sure to follow the puff pastry package instructions! Preheat the oven to 400°F. Briefly roll out the dough. Evenly spread the mustard over a puff pastry sheet. If your pastry sheets are round, trim the ends to form a square. Reserve the trimmed edges.
Step 2
Place the 4 trimmed strips on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle 2 of them with cheddar, mozzarella & black pepper.
Step 3
Lay a plain strip over each of the 2 cheesy strips. Gently twist the pairs together. Place the straws back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
Step 4
Sprinkle half of the puff pastry square with black pepper, cheddar & mozzarella.
Step 5
Fold the other half of the sheet over the filling, pressing down firmly. Cut the filled pastry sheet into strips about 1-inch thick. (You can use a chef's knife or pizza cutter!)
Step 6
Gently twist each strip & place it on the baking sheet.
Step 7
Bake for 10 min at 400°F, or according to the puff pastry package instructions. The straws should be golden & melty. Serve & enjoy!
