Cauliflower (fresh)

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Wash & separate the cauliflower into florets. Cook the cauliflower in a pot of salted boiling water for 5-7 min.

Butter (unsalted)
Flour (all-purpose)
Milk (whole)
Gruyère cheese (shredded)
Nutmeg (ground)

Step 2

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir in the flour. Slowly add the milk, mixing continuously as it thickens. Stir in half the shredded cheese. Season with salt & pepper. Add the ground nutmeg (optional).

Step 3

Transfer the drained cauliflower to a greased baking dish. Season with salt & pepper. Pour the white sauce over top. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.

Step 4

Bake for 15-20 min at 400°F, or until the top is nice & golden brown. Enjoy!
