Broccoli Gratin

Broccoli in a creamy cheese sauce...this is how all veggies should be served!

Broccoli (fresh)

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Cut the broccoli into florets of equal size. Add the broccoli to the boiling water & cook for 3-5 minutes. Drain & set aside.

Flour (all-purpose)

Step 2

To make the sauce, melt the butter in a pan over medium-low heat. Whisk in the flour & stir constantly until the mixture turns a nutty brown.


Step 3

Gradually whisk in the milk. Simmer while stirring, until it forms a thick consistency that coats the back of a spoon. Add a pinch of nutmeg (optional). Remove from heat.

Shredded cheese

Step 4

Transfer the broccoli to an oven-safe dish. Pour the white sauce over the broccoli & sprinkle with grated cheese. Season with salt & pepper.

Step 5

Bake for 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Eat up!
