Fire up the skillet - these smashburgers are your new obsession!
Make sure you have...
Stovetop, Frying pan, Oven
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Peel & cut the sweet potatoes into 1-inch cubes.
Step 2
Place the cubed sweet potatoes on a parchment paper-lined sheet tray. Season with salt, pepper, half of the smoked paprika & a drizzle of olive oil. Mix well & bake for 25-30 min at 400°F.
Step 3
Meanwhile, add the ground beef & the remaining smoked paprika to a bowl. Season with salt & pepper. Mix well, then use your hands to form each portion of ground beef into a ball. Set aside.
Step 4
Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the bacon & grill for 2-3 min per side, until crispy. Once crispy, remove the bacon from the pan & drain it on a piece of paper towel.
Step 5
In the same frying pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the burger buns, cut-side down. Toast for 1-2 min, until golden.
Step 6
Add the balls of ground beef to the same pan & smash with a spatula until flat & thin. Grill for 2-3 min per side, until fully cooked. Place the bacon on top. Set aside & keep warm.
Step 7
Once the sweet potatoes are tender & golden brown, remove from the oven.
Step 8
Spread half of the burger sauce on the burger buns. Add the bacon-topped burgers & the lettuce. Close the smashburgers. Serve with the roasted sweet potatoes on the side, with the remaining burger sauce for dipping. Serve & enjoy immediately!
To make it a cheeseburger, just melt a slice of your favorite cheese on top!
