A cheeseburger without bacon is like ice cream without sprinkles...it's just less fun ; - )
Make sure you have...
Stovetop, Frying pan, Knife
Step 1
Peel & thinly slice the red onion.
Step 2
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the bacon & cook undisturbed, 2-3 min on each side. Once cooked to your liking, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate, keeping the remaining bacon grease in the pan.
Step 3
In the same pan, heat a dab of butter over medium heat. Toast the buns, cut-side down for 1-2 min.
Step 4
In the same pan, add another dab of butter then cook the burger on one side for 2 min over high heat. Season with salt & pepper. Flip & season the other side. Cook for 2 more min then add the cheddar & cover the pan. Turn off the heat & continue cooking for 1 more min, until the cheese is melted.
Step 5
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise & ketchup until smooth.
Step 6
On the bottom half of the toasted bun, spread the sauce. Layer on lettuce, the cheeseburger, bacon slices & red onions. Close the burger with the top bun. Serve & enjoy!
