recipe

Yellow onion
Garlic

Step 1

Peel & dice the onion. Peel & mince the garlic.

Lacinato kale

Step 2

Wash the kale. Hold the stem in one hand & use your opposite hand to strip the leaves along the stem away from you. Roughly chop the kale.

Chicken sausage (pre-cooked)

Step 3

Slice the chicken sausage into 1/4-inch rounds.

Garlic bread (frozen)

Step 4

If using, heat the garlic bread according to package directions.

Olive oil

Step 5

Meanwhile, heat a drizzle of olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. When hot, add the chicken sausage & cook for 1-2 min on each side, until browned. Transfer to a plate & set aside.

Step 6

In the same frying pan over medium heat, add another drizzle of olive oil. Add the onion & cook for 4-5 min, stirring often, until softened. Add the garlic & cook for 1-2 more min, until fragrant.

Cannellini beans (cooked)
Italian seasoning

Step 7

Add the cannellini beans (drained & rinsed) to the frying pan. Season with salt, pepper & Italian seasoning.

Chicken broth
Lacinato kale

Step 8

Stir in the chicken broth & bring to a simmer. Simmer for 3-4 min to combine the flavors, then add the kale. Stir to wilt.

Step 9

When the kale is wilted, add the browned chicken sausage & cook until heated through, 1-2 min.

Step 10

Serve with extra pepper & a side of garlic bread (optional). Enjoy!
