Flour (all-purpose)
Baking powder
Sugar (granulated)

Step 1

Add the flour, baking powder & a pinch of salt to a bowl. Add a bit of sugar (optional).

In 2 separate small bowls, separate the egg yolks from the whites.

Milk (whole)

Beat or whisk the milk with the egg yolks.

Pour the yolk-milk mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir with a few swift strokes.

Butter (unsalted)

Step 5

Briefly melt all of the butter in the microwave. Gently fold the warm butter into the batter.

Add a pinch of salt to the egg whites. Then beat the whites with a hand mixer until they form stiff peaks.

Gently fold the egg whites into the batter, using a spatula.

Heat a dab of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add a ladleful of batter to the skillet. Cook for 2 min, or until bubbles form around the edges. Flip over the pancake. Cook for another 2 min, or until cooked through.

Step 9

Remove the pancake from the skillet & keep warm. Repeat with the remaining batter.

Maple syrup

Step 10

Drizzle your pancakes with maple syrup. Add an extra dab of butter (optional). Enjoy!
