Step 1
Preheat your waffle iron. Wash, trim & quarter the strawberries, if using. Add the strawberries to a small bowl with half the sugar. Mix to combine & set aside.
Step 2
Melt the butter in a small pot over medium heat. You could also melt the butter in the microwave!
Step 3
Add the remaining sugar to the melted butter. Stir.
Step 4
Crack the eggs into a large bowl. Whisk the eggs. Add the sugar & butter. Mix it all together.
Step 5
Add the flour, baking powder & a pinch of salt to the bowl. Then slowly add the milk. Gently fold the ingredients together.
Step 6
Using a pastry brush or paper towel, carefully grease the waffle iron with oil. Cooking spray works great here too!
Step 7
Use a ladle or cup to measure out the batter. Pour the batter into the hot waffle iron. Cook until golden & crisp, or according to your waffle iron settings. Remove the waffle with a fork. Repeat with the remaining batter.
Step 8
Serve your waffles topped with strawberries & whipped cream (optional). Enjoy!
