Oven, Frying pan, Stovetop, Baking dish
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat, then add a pat of butter.
Step 2
Cook the gnocchi, stirring occasionally, until golden brown (around 2–3 minutes).
Step 3
Meanwhile, shave or slice the cheese into thin strips (grated or shredded is fine too). Chop the chives.
Step 4
Once the gnocchi are cooked golden brown, add 2 tbsp of water (per serving). Cover & cook for 1 more minute.
Step 5
Remove the lid & continue to cook until any remaining water evaporates. Then, transfer the cooked gnocchi to an oven-safe dish.
Step 6
Top the gnocchi with most of the cheese. Chop or tear the ham into pieces & layer over the gnocchi. Mix it together. Season with salt & pepper. Bake for 10 minutes.
Step 7
Once done, remove from oven. Top with a drizzle of oil, remaining cheese & the chopped chives (optional). Enjoy!
