Country bread + ham + cheese = a winning croque monsieur!

Gruyère cheese (shredded)
Heavy cream
Nutmeg (ground)

Step 1

In a bowl, mix the shredded gruyère, heavy cream & nutmeg, if using. Season with salt & pepper.

Country bread (sliced)
Ham (deli slices)

Step 2

Spread 1/2 the gruyère/cream mixture on one of the slices of country bread, then add the ham on top.

Step 3

Close the croque monsieur with the 2nd slice of bread, then cover with the rest of the gruyère/cream mixture. Line the air fryer basket with parchment, then place the croque monsieur inside. Cook for 6-8 min at 400°F.

Step 4

Once golden brown & crispy, remove the croque monsieur from the air fryer. Cut it in half & serve on a plate with a green salad dressed to your liking (we recommend a simple dressing of olive oil, lemon juice, salt & pepper!). Serve & enjoy!
