Make sure you have...
Stovetop, Pot (small), Frying pan, Knife
Step 1
Cook the rice according to package instructions. (Preparing the rice the night before is even better!)
Step 2
Cut the chicken into 1-inch pieces.
Step 3
For better browning, dredge the chicken in flour (optional).
Step 4
Thread the chicken onto skewers.
Step 5
Heat a drizzle of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chicken skewers. Season with salt & pepper.
Step 6
Cook the chicken skewers for 3-5 min, turning frequently.
Step 7
Drizzle half of the teriyaki sauce over the chicken. Cook for 2-3 min, spooning the sauce over the chicken. Add a splash of water if needed.
Step 8
Sprinkle the skewers with sesame seeds (optional). Remove the skewers from the pan & cover to keep warm.
Step 9
In the same pan, heat a drizzle of oil over medium-high heat. Add the rice. Season generously with salt & pepper.
Step 10
Add the frozen peas & garlic. Stir fry for 2-3 min, or until all is heated through.
Step 11
Serve the skewers over the fried rice. Garnish with more teriyaki sauce (optional). Enjoy!
