Stovetop, Pot (small), Frying pan

White rice

Step 1

Cook the rice according to the package instructions.

Garlic

Step 2

Heat a drizzle of sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Add crushed or minced garlic. Cook, stirring for 1 min.

Step 3

Add a pinch of ginger powder or a bit of freshly grated ginger root. Stir to combine.

White rice

Step 4

Add the cooked rice. Stir fry for about 2 min over high heat.

Soy sauce

Step 5

Add the soy sauce. Stir, then reduce the heat to medium. Cook for 3 min, or until the rice is lightly browned.

Egg

Step 6

Meanwhile, in another pan, heat a drizzle of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the cracked eggs.

Step 7

Cook for 3 min, or until done to your liking.

Green onion (scallions)

Step 8

Serve the rice topped with the fried egg. Drizzle with Sriracha or your favorite hot sauce. Garnish with chopped scallions (optional). Dig in!
