When you can't decide between chocolate or yellow cake...Treat yourself to both!
Whisk, Oven, Loaf pan, Microwave, Knife, Mixing bowl
Step 1
Bring the butter to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, sugar & a pinch of salt. Mix to combine.
Step 2
Crack the eggs into the batter, whisking between each addition of egg.
Step 3
Add the baking powder & flour. Mix to combine.
Step 4
Divide the batter into 2 bowls. Sift the cocoa powder into 1 bowl & stir.
Step 5
Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper. Add the yellow & chocolate batter in layers, alternating between each layer.
Step 6
Use the tip of a knife to decoratively marble the batter.
Step 7
Bake for 35-40 min at 350°F.
Step 8
Roughly chop the chocolate. Add it to a microwave-safe bowl. Melt the chocolate in the microwave.
Step 9
Roughly chop the almonds.
Step 10
Pour the oil into the bowl of melted chocolate. Add a pinch of salt & the chopped almonds. Mix it all together.
Step 11
Remove the cake from the oven. Let it cool on a wire rack for at least 30 min.
Step 12
Carefully remove the cake from the loaf pan. Pour the frosting evenly over the cake. Serve & enjoy!
