Leeks

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Boil a large pot of water over high heat. Trim & discard the root end & half of the dark green leaves of the leeks. Then cut the remaining segments into 4–6-inch long pieces (probably into thirds).

Add the leeks to the pot of boiling water, cover & cook for 5 minutes.

Drain the leeks & cut each piece in half lengthwise.

Heavy cream

Step 4

Arrange half of the leeks in a snug layer in an oven-safe baking dish. Add half of the cream & shredded cheese. Add another layer of leeks. Top with remaining cream & cheese. Top with torn pieces of ham, salt, pepper & drizzle of olive oil.

Step 5

Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown & tender. Serve & enjoy!
