Stovetop, Frying pan, Oven, Knife
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Arrange the fries on one side of a parchment paper-lined sheet tray. Place the chicken cutlets on the other side of the sheet tray. Bake according to package directions, about 20-25 min. Halfway through, toss the fries & turn over the cutlets so they cook evenly.
Step 2
Add a drizzle of olive oil to a frying pan over medium heat. Toast the burger buns for about 1-2 min, until golden brown.
Step 3
Peel & finely chop the shallot.
Step 4
Finely chop the chives.
Step 5
In a bowl, add the crème fraîche, mayonnaise, minced shallot, chives & garlic powder. Mix to combine. Season with salt & pepper. Mix well, then set aside in the refrigerator.
Step 6
Remove the fries & chicken cutlets from the oven. Place the cheddar on the chicken cutlets & return to the oven for 1-2 min, until melted (optional but recommended!). Remove from the oven & sprinkle the fries with salt while still warm.
Step 7
Spread the sauce on the bottom bun. Add the crispy chicken & lettuce. Spread the top bun with sauce, then close the sandwich. Serve with fries & extra sauce for dipping. Enjoy!
