Chocolate + Orange = delicious! Top with some crunchy cookies & its even better!
Stovetop, Pot (small), Electric hand mixer, Spatula, Ramekin, Grater
Step 1
Melt the chocolate (about 1 oz per serving) in a heat safe bowl over a pot of boiling water, or microwave the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30 second intervals. Once smooth & well melted, remove from heat.
Step 2
Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Add the egg whites to a large mixing bowl & set aside.
Step 3
Pour the egg yolks into the bowl with the melted chocolate & mix. Zest the orange into the bowl & mix until the smooth.
Step 4
In the bowl with the egg whites, add a pinch of salt. Beat the egg whites with a hand mixer until they are stiff. Then, add the brown sugar & beat again until glossy, about 2-3 min.
Step 5
Using a spatula, delicately fold the egg whites into the chocolate in several batches.
Step 6
Pour the mixture into individual cups or small ramekins, alternating chocolate mousse & crumbled cookies. Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.
Step 7
Take the chocolate mousses out of the fridge. Add crumbled cookies & more orange zest if desired. Enjoy!
