Cherries (fresh)

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Wash the cherries. Cut them in half & remove the pits.

Flour (all-purpose)
Sugar (granulated)
Butter (unsalted)

Step 2

Combine the flour, sugar & a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl. Melt the butter for 15 seconds in the microwave, then add it to the bowl. Mix until well combined.

Step 3

Form the dough into a ball. Transfer it to a sheet of floured parchment paper.

Step 4

Roll out the dough until it's about 1/4 inch thick.

Cherries (fresh)

Step 5

Sift the almond flour over the dough.

Step 6

Arrange the cherries over top, leaving a 2-inch border around the edges.

Step 7

Fold in the edges of the dough & press down lightly with the parchment paper.

Step 8

Top the cherries with a few dabs of butter & a sprinkle of sugar (optional). This will lightly caramelize in the oven.

Step 9

Bake for 30 min, or until the edges are golden brown. Highly recommended with vanilla ice cream!
