Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Set aside half the pecans to garnish the top of the pie. Crush or finely chop the rest.

Flour (all-purpose)
Brown sugar (light)
Butter (unsalted)

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 0.50 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of room-temperature chopped butter & a pinch of salt. Mix it together with your fingers until it forms a crumbly texture.

Step 3

Add the dough to a greased pie pan. Using the bottom of a drinking glass, flatten the dough into the pan to form a crust.

Step 4

Trim the edges with a knife. Refrigerate the crust while you make the filling.

Step 5

In another mixing bowl, combine the remaining brown sugar, white sugar, 1 tbsp of flour, eggs & the remaining 0.25 cup of butter (melted). Stir it all together.

Step 6

Add the crushed pecans & vanilla extract to the pie filling. Stir again.

Pour the mixture into the pie pan, spreading it out evenly. Decoratively arrange the whole pecans over top.

Step 8

Bake for 10 min at 400°F . Then lower the heat to 350°F. Bake for 20 min at 350°F, or until the crust is golden & the pie is caramelized.

Let it cool before slicing. Enjoy!
