Step 1
Spread a layer of cream cheese over each slice of bread.
Step 2
Top with a generous smear of onion jam. Layer the cheese & arugula (optional) over top. Season with salt & pepper. Close the sandwiches.
Step 3
Melt a dab of butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the sandwiches & cook for 2 min.
Step 4
Flip over the sandwiches. Cover the pan & cook for 1 min. Turn off the heat & let the sandwiches sit covered for 1 min, or until the cheese is melty.
Step 5
Remove from the pan. Slice them on the diagonal.
Step 6
