The Salmon Avocado Toast Ingredients
Here are all the ingredients you need to make our salmon avocado toast.
- 1 egg per serving. You’ll be hard-boiling this egg, cutting it in half, and putting each half on a slice of toast. We recommend leaving your yolks just a little bit soft.
- Slices of smoked salmon. Salmon adds tons more flavor to your avocado toast, and it’s also packed with protein and omega-3 fatty acids. It’s one of the healthiest types of fish there is.
- Avocado. Make sure your avocados are ripe before using them on toast.
- Cream cheese. You might not expect to find this ingredient in an avocado toast recipe. However, it’s the perfect pairing for smoked salmon. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of trying lox on a bagel with cream cheese, you know how well the cheese complements the flavors of the fish.
- Lemon. Squeezing a bit of lemon juice on top of your toast makes the flavors stand out.
- Whole grain bread. We recommend making your avocado toast with large, thin slices of bread, ideally with as many seeds as possible.
The Salmon Avocado Toast Recipe
Follow these steps to make incredible avocado toast.
- Cook each egg in boiled water with the shell still on for six minutes.
- Cut your avocado into thin slices and put the bread in the toaster.
- Once the bread is toasted, spread a layer of cream cheese on each slice. Top the cream cheese with avocado slices, then salmon.
- Peel the shells off the eggs, halve them, and put one half on each slice of toast.
- Garnish with lemon juice and lemon zest, along with salt and pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.
