Ingredients

Utensils

Stovetop and Frying pan.

Recipe

Yellow onion

Step 1

Peel & thinly slice the onions.

Bell pepper (red)

Step 2

Wash & cut the peppers, removing the core & seeds. Slice them into thin strips.

Step 3

Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a pan, over medium heat. Add the onions & peppers. Season with salt & pepper. Cook for 4-5 min. Pour a splash of water into the pan, cover & cook for an additional 5-7 min.

Veggie Sausage

Step 4

In a second pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil, over medium heat. Add the veggie sausages & cook them for 12-13 min, turning them regularly.

Sour cream
Lime

Step 5

Meanwhile, prepare the sauce. In a bowl, combine: the sour cream & lime zest & juice. Season with salt & pepper.

Hot dog bun
Salsa

Step 6

Open the hot dog buns & add a veggie sausage. Top with the grilled peppers & add a drizzle of salsa & of sour cream.

Step 7

Serve the veggie Tex-Mex hot dogs with a side of green lettuce seasoned to taste. Enjoy!
