recipe

Butter (unsalted)
Chocolate chips (mini, semi-sweet)

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9-inch cake pan with baking spray & set aside. In a sauce pot, melt the chocolate & butter over low heat. Continuously stir until the mixture is smooth.

Egg

Step 2

Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks.

Sugar (granulated)

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, add the egg yolks, sugar & about 1 tablespoon of water. Whisk until the mixture is smooth.

Flour (all-purpose)
Baking powder

Step 4

Stir the melted chocolate & butter into the egg mixture. Add the flour & baking powder. Fold with a spatula until the dry ingredients are just combined.

Step 5

Beat the egg whites until stiff (an electric hand-mixer works best here). Add the egg whites to the batter & fold in gently with a spatula.

Step 6

Pour the cake batter into the prepared cake pan & bake for 35 min at 350°F.
