Step 1
Preheat the oven to 225°F. Separate the egg whites from the yolks.
Step 2
Add a pinch of salt to the egg whites and beat until white and fluffy.
Step 3
Add the granulated sugar in gradually, beating in between.
Step 4
When stiff white peaks begin to form, gently fold in the sifted powdered sugar using a spatula.
Step 5
If you have one, use a piping bag to form the meringues on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Alternatively, form into small heaps using two spoons. Bake for 1 hour for chewy meringues. If you want a crunchier meringue, bake for 2 hours.
Step 6
Take them out of the oven and let cool on a cooling rack. Enjoy!
