Easter chocolate eggs

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 425°F. Coarsely chop half of the M&M's & chocolate eggs. Save the other half to decorate the cookies.

Butter (unsalted)
Sugar (granulated)

Step 2

Soften the butter in the microwave for 15-20 seconds. In a bowl, mix the softened butter with the sugar until smooth.

Egg

Step 3

Add the eggs & mix until smooth.

Flour (all-purpose)
Baking powder

Step 4

Then, add the flour, baking powder & a pinch of salt. Stir just until the dough is smooth.

Step 5

Add the chopped candy & mix. Refrigerate the cookie dough for 30 min.

Step 6

Remove the cookie dough from the refrigerator & form dough balls, about 1.5 inches wide. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 8-10 min at 425°F or until the cookies are lightly browned on the edges.

Step 7

Remove the cookies from the oven. Add the reserved M&M's & chocolate eggs to the top of the still warm cookies, pressing them in lightly. Serve & enjoy!
