Red apple

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (even if the puff pastry instructions say 400°F!). Wash & finely slice the apples, leaving the skin on.

Almond flour
Puff pastry

Step 2

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry using a rolling pin. Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined or greased tart pan. Fold over & crimp the edges to form a crust. Prick the dough several times with a fork. Sift almond flour over top.

Applesauce

Step 3

Spread the applesauce over the almond flour.

Sugar (granulated)
Cinnamon (ground)

Step 4

Toss the apple slices with a pinch of salt, 1 tbsp of sugar & 1 tsp of cinnamon. Reserve the rest of the cinnamon & sugar for later. Decoratively arrange the apple slices over the applesauce.

Step 5

Sift the rest of the cinnamon & sugar over the apple slices.

Step 6

Bake for 40 min at 375°F, turning the tart halfway through baking.

Step 7

Remove the tart from the oven. Let it cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy!
