Sausage Ragu with Polenta

Polenta

Milk (whole)
1 tbsp
Parmesan (grated)

Italian pork sausage (ground)
1/2 cup
Tomatoes (canned, peeled)
1/2 clove
Garlic
1 tbsp
Basil (fresh)

- Step 1
Heat a drizzle of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the ground pork & grated or minced garlic. - Step 2
Season with salt & pepper. Cook, stirring for 3-5 min. Break the meat apart as it cooks down. - Step 3
Add the canned tomatoes & stir. Bring it to a simmer. - Step 4
Add the basil. Season again with salt & pepper. Reduce the heat to low, cover & simmer until the polenta is done. - Step 5
Pour the milk into a separate pot over medium heat. Bring it to a gentle boil. - Step 6
Slowly add the polenta, stirring constantly. Continue mixing or whisking until the polenta is smooth & creamy. Add a splash of water if needed. - Step 7
Season with salt & pepper. Add half of the grated parmesan & stir. - Step 8
Spoon the polenta into serving bowls. Top with the sausage ragu. Garnish with the remaining parmesan. Add a few more fresh basil leaves (optional). Enjoy!
