- Step 1
Separate the egg whites from the yolks. - Step 2
Add the egg whites & a pinch of salt to a large bowl. Beat the egg whites with an electric hand mixer until stiff peaks form, about 3-5 min. Add half of the sugar & beat again. - Step 3
To a second bowl, add the egg yolks & the other half of the sugar. Whisk well to combine. - Step 4
Add the mascarpone & whisk until smooth. - Step 5
Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the mascarpone mixture with a spatula. - Step 6
Pour the coffee (1 1/2 cups for 8 servings) into a shallow dish. Dip the ladyfingers into the coffee on both sides. - Step 7
Place a first layer of ladyfingers in the bottom of a baking dish. You can also serve your tiramisu in glasses/ramekins or bowls. - Step 8
Spread a layer of the mascarpone mixture on top & sprinkle with half the chocolate candies. Add a second layer of ladyfingers & mascarpone. Cover the tiramisu with plastic wrap & chill for at least 6 hrs. Ideally, make the tiramisu the day before for the next day! - Step 9
Remove the tiramisu just before serving & garnish with the remaining chocolate candies. Serve & enjoy!
