Ham & Pesto Stromboli

Ingredients for 1 stromboli

Puff pastry
3/50 cup
Pesto
1 slice
Ham (deli slices)
3/4 oz
Mozzarella (fresh)

Egg

- Step 1
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Unroll the dough & spread a layer of pesto sauce, leaving 1 inch around the edges. - Step 2
Add the ham slices. - Step 3
Slice the mozzarella into thin rounds. Arrange the slices on top of the ham. Season with pepper. - Step 4
Fold in two edges of the dough, then roll it into a log. - Step 5
Line a sheet tray with parchment paper. Add the Stromboli. In a small bowl, beat 1 egg. Brush the egg wash all over the Stromboli. Use a fork to pierce a few holes in the dough. - Step 6
Sprinkle grated parmesan over the Stromboli (optional). Bake in the oven for 15-20 min at 425°F, or until the outside is golden brown. Pro tip: check on the crust occasionally, every oven heats at a different pace! - Step 7
Remove the Stromboli from the oven & allow it to cool for several min. This will help the filling firm up inside. Use a serrated knife to slice 1-inch thick rounds. Serve with more pesto if you wish. Enjoy!
