recipe
- Step 1
Peel & thinly slice the red onions into rings. - Step 2
Thinly slice the pickles. - Step 3
Add the ground beef to a mixing bowl. Season generously with salt & pepper. Mix with your hands. - Step 4
Divide the meat into 2 even portions per serving & form balls using your hands. - Step 5
Heat a drizzle of oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the portioned meat & smash each portion into a flat patty using a spatula. Cook for 2-3 min on each side or until the meat is nicely browned. - Step 6
Then add a slice of cheddar on one of the patties. Cover it with the second patty & add the second slice of cheddar on top. Cover & cook for 1-2 minutes just until the cheese is melted. - Step 7
Meanwhile, in a second hot pan, melt a dab of butter. Toast the cut-side of the burger buns for 15-30 seconds. - Step 8
Assemble the burger: spread ketchup & mustard on the bottom bun. Add the burger patties, sliced onion, pickles & lettuce. Enjoy!
