Strawberries
2 slices
Brioche bread (sliced)
1/4 cup
Milk (whole)
3 tbsp
Sugar (granulated)

- Step 1
Wash, trim & slice the strawberries. - Step 2
Combine the strawberries & 1/3 of the sugar in a bowl. Set aside. - Step 3
In a shallow dish, whisk together the egg, milk & 1/3 of the sugar. - Step 4
Dredge both sides of the brioche slices in the milk-egg mixture. - Step 5
Melt a dab of butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the brioche & cook for 2 min on each side. - Step 6
Sprinkle the remaining sugar over both sides of the brioche slices. - Step 7
Turn them over in the pan until they are well caramelized. - Step 8
Remove them from the pan, but keep the pan over low heat. - Step 9
Arrange the brioche slices on a serving plate. - Step 10
Add another dab of butter to the hot pan. Pour in the strawberries. Cook, stirring for 3-5 min, or until they form a compote. - Step 11
Spoon the strawberry compote over the French toast. Yum!!!
