Shallot

1 clove
Garlic

1/4 lb
Ground beef

1/2 tbsp
Soy sauce

1/2 tsp
Fish sauce

1/4 bunch
Basil (fresh)

1 cup
Jasmine rice (cooked)

1/2 tsp
Sugar (granulated)

Peel & thinly slice the shallots. - Step 2
Peel & thinly slice the garlic. - Step 3
Add the ground beef & cook for 4-5 min, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon as it cooks. When the beef is cooked (no pink remaining), add the soy sauce, fish sauce & sugar. Keep cooking for 2-3 more min, until the liquid has thickened & coated the beef. - Step 4
Remove from the heat. Add the basil leaves & toss to wilt. - Step 5
Heat the rice according to package instructions. - Step 6
Serve the beef & basil stir fry over rice. Enjoy!
Recipe tip
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the stir fry if you like some heat!
