  • Step 1
    Peel the potatoes & cut into 1-inch cubes.
  • Step 2
    Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the diced potatoes. Cook for 15 min.
  • Step 3
    In another pot of salted boiling water, add the green beans. Cook for 5 min.
  • Step 4
    Meanwhile, chop or thinly slice the shallot.
  • Step 5
    Once the green beans & potatoes are cooked, drain separately.
  • Step 6
    Add the potatoes to a bowl. Season with salt & pepper.
  • Step 7
    Add the milk & butter to the potatoes. Mash until smooth, adding extra water or milk if necessary. Cover both the mashed potatoes & green beans to keep them warm.
  • Step 8
    Melt another dab of butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the shallots. Cook for 2 min.
  • Step 9
    Add the beef patties to the pan. Cook for 2 min on each side, or until done to your liking.
  • Step 10
    Add 2 tbsp of water (per serving) to the pan to deglaze it. Let it thicken for 1-2 min, creating a gravy.
  • Step 11
    Serve your meat, potatoes & green beans covered in shallot gravy. Enjoy!
