recipe
- Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Set aside half the pecans to garnish the top of the pie. Crush or finely chop the rest. - Step 2
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 0.50 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of room-temperature chopped butter & a pinch of salt. Mix it together with your fingers until it forms a crumbly texture. - Step 3
Add the dough to a greased pie pan. Using the bottom of a drinking glass, flatten the dough into the pan to form a crust. - Step 4
Trim the edges with a knife. Refrigerate the crust while you make the filling. - Step 5
In another mixing bowl, combine the remaining brown sugar, white sugar, 1 tbsp of flour, eggs & the remaining 0.25 cup of butter (melted). Stir it all together. - Step 6
Add the crushed pecans & vanilla extract to the pie filling. Stir again. - Step 7
Pour the mixture into the pie pan, spreading it out evenly. Decoratively arrange the whole pecans over top. - Step 8
Bake for 10 min at 400°F . Then lower the heat to 350°F. Bake for 20 min at 350°F, or until the crust is golden & the pie is caramelized. - Step 9
Let it cool before slicing. Enjoy!
