  • Step 1
    Preheat the oven to 450°F. Shred the Gruyère cheese, reserving half for later. In a small bowl, mix together the crème fraîche, grated parmesan, salt, pepper & half the Gruyère.
  • Step 2
    Butter the bread slices on one side.
  • Step 3
    Grease a baking dish.
  • Step 4
    Lay half the bread slices in the baking dish, butter-side up.
  • Step 5
    Tear the slices of ham in half. Arrange half the ham over the buttered bread. Sprinkle with the remaining shredded Gruyère. Top with the rest of the ham.
  • Step 6
    Close the sandwiches with slices of bread, butter-side down. Generously spread the creamy cheese mixture over top the sandwiches.
  • Step 7
    Bake in the oven for 5-10 min at 450°F, or until golden brown & melty.
  • Step 8
    Serve with a bed of salad greens dressed to your liking. Bon appétit!
